Well I would not be surprised if chef Mathias Dandine at Le Saint-Estève * just outside the tiny village Le Tholonet, ten minutes from Aix en Provence, soon receives his second star ** in the Michelin Guide.
Our meal was just a dream of tastes, textures, colours and spiritual combinations of seasonal and local products. Add beautiful local wines and really nice, knowledgable and warm hearted staff…if you come for lunch, you will also get a view as unrealistically pretty as a screen saving landscape poster.
If you feel like it, why not stay a few nights at the combined hotel Les Lodges Sainte Victoire, in an old and totally refurbished hospital from the 18th century. The concierge Benoit and his colleagues will do their outmost to make you feel special and welcome.
Just choose between tailor made painting classes in the mountains, art excursions, tough biking, or whatever you feel like after having talked to the concierge. Then enjoy the five hectare park with a pool, vineyards and Olive trees – and the restaurant, Le Saint Estève of course, just 30 meters away.
This is what the MICHELIN Guide 2016 says about Le Saint-Estève *
“It is in this luxurious, brand new property that Mathias Dandine is to be found. The philosophy of the already acclaimed Provençal chef can be summed up as: the best ingredients the season has to offer, a degree of simplicity, and bold flavours. All the exuberance of the region’s flavours!” #lottiesworld #lesaintesteve #leslodgessaintevictoire #visitfrance #franceFR #saintesteve #lodgessaintevictoire
