When in Palma, so many Swedes and Brits stay at Portixol, Puro or Tres. But why not do as the early adopters from the airlines (pilotes and other crew often have good taste when it comes to hotels, when on private holidays) and try Hotel Cort, next time? Perfectly situated in the old quarters of Palma, at car free Placa Cort, shadowed by a 600 years old olive tree and in front of the city hall.
This is an intimate, personalised hotel with only 14 suites and two rooms. No 24 and 23 are my favourites, with french balconies, overlooking Placa Cort including the excellent own hotel bar and restaurant, also serving outside nearly all year round. You will of course also find THE suite in Hotel Cort: Island suite, including a roof top terrace with endless views of the harbour, cathedral and old city center. You will even get glimpses of the sea, up there, and the location is often used for photo shootings.
The 100 years old Cort building used to host a language school, then a bank. Since three years, it’s completely tranformed: all antique details remain and there have been som many old, beautiful interior items added: from refurbished old monasteries, churches, fincas and farms. The wooden reception counter, for example, used to belong to praying monks! And, needless to say, a very nice staff team led by norwegian Tone really create an intimate and welcoming ambience at Hotel Cort. #lottiesworld #hotelcort #visitspain
