Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok is a busy, exciting, confusing and in many senses hot city. So why not combine a Bangkok weekend with refreshing swimming in an equally – alike numerous meanings – cool infinity roof top pool?

I don’t know if you are familiar with the Okura brand; a top, prestige Japanese/Asian hotel group, famous for it’s elegance, high end food and top notch service.

I visited the first “original” Okura in Tokyo 26 years ago, and was delighted to revisit it’s Bangkok offspring, in my search of the best Bangkok roof top pools.

Okura Prestige Bangkok http://www.okurabangkok.com will certainly not create any disappointment for any international swimmer, apart from those suffering from severe vertigo, since this is a true infinity pool.

But don’t be afraid, there is a hidden ledge below the pool edge, even if you really don’t see anything but blue water, blending perfectly with the Bangkok skyline.

I must admit being somewhat mesmerized by Okura Prestige Bangkok and it’s elegant pool on the 25th floor. And yes, I did do some excercise in the gym, overlooking the Bangkok skyline and blue waters. Next time, I’ll go for the spa as well.
